"From the Dirt we Persevere" My grandma Gloria used to work at the cannery on 10th and Taylor back in the 1960s. She started working there at age 16. You had to be 18 to work there. Soooo, grandma's uncle adjusted her birth certificate to make it look like she was 18. She also said she worked the fields that supplied fruit to the canneries, as did my pops and his brothers when they were kids.
I am aaaalways fascinated how life can push thru the toughest of circumstances. A flower thru concrete, a person thru oppression. You keep pushing no matter how tough and I love you for that!
